Ones made from of corn and the other made from wood. Both are 90% alcohol and both have been used as fuel. One guy I know of lives in a small where methanol is rare to find so he uses denatured alcohol when spraying to cool his turbo'd truck. Any thoughts?

 

Its an alcohol so it will work.. its just silly expensive here.

 

It does not cool as well as methanol as per Julio at alkycontrol.

 

denatured alcohol is just ethanol. lower octane and less cooling than methanol. i get methanol for $2.50 a gal. denatured is more like $8-10 a gal. be silly not to just get the good stuff.

 

After much research, I'm switching over from my current 50/50 W/M to straight meth. I don't use a w/a a/a intercooler. My piping goes straight from the NOVI blower to the TB. I introduce the spray after the TB jetted through a Snow Performance carb spacer into a wet, single plane intake manifold.

Now my next question for all you men..... I currently run a Snow Performance Stage 2 with a progressive contoller with two .0625 jets.

Now here's the question.... Is the kit I have fine, or will I have to an upgrade when switching over to straight meth?

Another question. Here's a pic of my piston's after 4 year's using 50/50 w/m. When I switch over to straight meth will they look the same?

 

The snow pump is not rated for strait meth. Might find a pump that is for safety. Not sure if the snow pump will crap out or not.

 

I always run 100% meth, but I have stopped by home depot and bought some denatured alchohol in a pinch. It works,but is expensive and not the best solution.
