Afr and timing question
#21
Lower timing 2-3* to be on the safe side and leave it alone. 1 thing I learned after owning more then 70 cars in the past 25 years is don't F**k with the family car. Be happy with what it makes and have fun with it.

Well my wifes car is the family car. I just take mine to/from work. I already updated my tune. took out 2* timing and set the commanded afr to 11.4. that would keep it alittle safer until i get a smaller pulley for more boost.

I did some researching. And at 6500 rpm I start going rich and at 6700 the PCM goes into rep mode. My log showed 12.8 psi when it went into rep mode. Could I be blowing out the spark? I'm running the tr6 gapped at .030. Should I get the 7's and gap them around .028? I don't go about 4500 rpm very often. I live 3 miles from work with a max speed of 30 mph

Can't remember. It's been 2 months since I've gone wot and that happened. I did it before when I installed the dual walbro 400s. Had to take a lot if fuel out of the tune to get it to stop

The 03+ pcm's will go into rep if your ve table go's to high up there, might go through it and try backing it down in the ve and add fuel somewere else in the tune. And yeah the richer af is for slower and cooler burn, timing obviously has to be backed down because of more cylinder pressure which will cause a quicker burn there for needing less ignition lead to get your burn were you need it.

learn how to read plugs. install a fresh set of plugs then do a WOT pull then shut it down. pull 2 plugs and read the plug carefully. it will tell you everything you need to know about what the motor wants. Going off what you read wont always net you the best but listening to what the motor wants will get you further.
