adding boost to the 6.2l
im going to be getting a in person Black Bear tune on the 17th and was wondering if I should install a pulley to up the boost a bit on my Magnuson TVS1900 kit. Of corse I wouldnt install this untill I was there. I have a 2012 Silverado with a 6.2L. Truck is a daily driver that I dont race so maby there is no real reason to do this. I want to stay safe and dont want to shorten the life of the motor or start breaking things. Magnuson said kit is 6lb of boost. What would I gain by going 7 or 8. would it be worth it? I hear 9 is ok on a stock 6.2L? What size pulley should I go with?
I would think two lb would be around 50 rwhp. I run 10lb all the time on my turbo.
What size pulley did the kit come with?
3.30"
Do it! My 1900 came with a 3.4" pulley, I went down to 3.2" and am seeing 8.5-9.5psi on my L96 6.0L, Only mods to motor are the 1900 and BB tune. I have 8k+ miles on set-up, it's my DD and tow rig.
i run 8.5 /9 lbs on my dd tow pig as well....it's all good
9/10 #'s is usually the limit for a daily driver on a 93 octane tune without Meth. I ran 10#'s in my dd TBSS for over a year.
