Default 78mm Throttle body and stock intake limits

Has anyone ever pushed the limit of what a stock NBS intake and throttle body would flow with a turbo? I'm wondering what kind of horsepower or E.T. in the 1/4 mile is the record on a stock intake and TB.

Sloppy mechanics made 1076whp and went 9's with way less than that on stock intake and throttle body. Internet calculators say maybe 700-800hp on that run.

No idea if people actually keep track of these records.

I think you can make pretty big horsepower with a 78mm tb with a turbo... With a supercharger the throttle body size, I think, makes more of a difference... It's harder for the supercharger to suck air through a small throttle body than it is for a turbo to push air through....Not aware of any records though.

I'm not trying to set any obscure record that nobody really cares about. I just recently blew my trans and while the truck is down I've started to debate on rebuilding the motor and upgrading my SBE. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it or not and what the different limiting factors are in my setup. I don't want to have redo everything, I'd just like to turn my S476 92mm 1.25AR t4 turbo all the way up and not have to worry about breaking something. I was wondering at what point the stock intake and TB starts to hold you back. I got a edelbrock pro flow with rails, Xlink, and LS3 TB just sitting in the garage so changing out the stock intake and TB would not be a big deal.

Right now I'm trying to clean up the engine bay a little and have the wiring harness all apart. I got the turbo off trying to figure out where this awful squeal was coming from under boost (I think I found it). I had the stall on my converter tightened up some. I got over 100K on the motor and at 800 rwhp I'm wondering how long I got before something goes. I probably won't do anything and just put it back together but I'm thinking about it.

The bigger issue with the 78mm intake is the restrictive flow to the rear cylinders.

The NNBS intake resolves this issue.

Stock48 has been north of 1000 on both his 6L sbe turbo truck and his Nova, both with stock truck intakes and 76mm dbc throttle bodies. So I'd say they can flow pretty well. And his aren't one and done dyno pulls with some spray to help, he's been beating the tar out of both those setups for years at those power levels.

The hp limit is when the seams split open.

...and they are garbage too.

I bought one of these to have in the shop for mock up purposes only and was blown away at how much of a piece of **** it really was. These chinese knockoffs are out of control. There isn't one aspect of it that was correct.

i have bought two for evos and those work great also.
what exactly was the problem with yours? i cant justify spending 400$ for something that small with one moving part.
