Just found one of these local but don't have all the specs in it. It's a precision ptb600.

Says its a 78/75 hpsh
.70 A/R compressor
.96 A/R exhaust

Anybody got any more info on this turbo. How would it work?

Put it this way, That turbo would be perfect for my 5.3. You will need something with a bigger exhaust turbine. Your 7.4 isnt going to like a small turbine

Gotcha. I figured with the compression as low as mine is that I should go small instead of big.

He is right.. your gonna need something thats gonna move some air!!!

i guess you should figure out how much power you wanna make and then maybe it will be easier to pick a turbo.

Aunt I don't understand the HP ratings then. That turbo is rated to 1000+. Shouldn't that mean its way more than I need if my goals are around 750.

The turbo needs to be sized for the engine size/hp rating.
And that still doesn't account for efficiency of an engine.
The 1000 rating would be at the crank on a much smaller engine.

You could use a 76/or 80 compressor, but you really need a large exhaust side. That turbo shown anove, exhaust side is to small for that engine.
With that smaller exhaust it would spool too fast be at boost to soon in your Rpm band to get to that hp rating.

Rick, how would a T6 S472 with a 96mm turbine 87 trim and 1.32 a/r work on it?
