Yes.

And for sure if you make the intake tube larger as that scales the MAF curve differently.

yes and I would recommend putting the maf in a 4” tubing from the get go!

No real downfalls at all.

The card sensor is very accurate and allows you go to very far horsepower wise because if you ran out of airflow through the current tube size you could just make it larger and re-scale the curve. It's why people that have stock card style MAF go from the 3in intake up to the 4in intake with some even going to 5in intakes are 1000+whp or maybe even higher.

same wires reverse whether I get sensor with iat or without iat? my iat is already relocated so I should only need MAF sensor

yes. The Ls3/7 MAF has the IAT built in, (which is the last two tan wires, one is solid tan and the other is tan with black stripe) the first three wires are yellow, pink, and black with a white stripe. But yes, you still swap the same two wires around.

ok thanks. rockauto says the "actual equiped" MAF sensor is the Hitachi one with sensor only but the AC Delco one they offer is both MAF and iat. sensor only is cheaper so I will probably go that route.
