Two takeaways. 1st he is running a damn small pulley to expect a 6rib belt to hold a positive displacement blower. 2nd it sounds like he bottomed out the tensioner and Overstressed the belt.
People forget belt load works both ways, on accel and decel. The weight of the rotors in a tvs or whipple is way more then a centrifugal setup and thus it puts more stress on the belt. Trying to decel the rotor pack puts a huge stress load on the belt also.
On another note the green belts have done great on mine, mines seen 7000rpm with a 2.8 pulley and extremely hard shifts with my 8rib. I am gonna try a RPM as I am tired of seeing a green belt under the hood.

I just bought an 17 6.2 Denali, and I would LOVE to whipple.
I don't care about fuel mileage, I am concerned about lifter issues, breaking trans, reared and driveshaft. Should I be? Is the sky falling?
How many miles and how many pounds have you experienced?
