11 Silverado TVS 1900, low on boost
 
Just installed a TVS 1900 on my 2011 Silverado 2500. It was used and came off a 2011 Suburban 2500. Same engines, has 3.2" pulley in which he was getting 9-9.5lbs boost. I am only getting 5lbs and even after having it dyno tuned today seems to struggle. Bypass wastegate is operating freely. 200 miles after tuning while driving home it started acting funny and it kept surging from 0-4lbs boost horribly as I was driving in bad wind. I hooked up laptop with HP Tuners to try to see what was going on and it stopped by time I got it hooked up. Very reputable tuner did the tune, not some shady joker. Trying to get some input here before I call him back. Thanks in advance

Post up the tune and logs, maybe something can be seen from them.

I'll extract the tune file tomorrow and post that up. I only have one log saved driving down the highway and got on it twice was about all. Any idea why the MAP sensor wont give a reading? I noticed that, not sure what I can do to get that reading in HP Tuners.

Make sure you are logging the correct one. Remove whatever MAP channel you have in there currently and select either the SAE map sensor pid or a 2 bar map sensor pid if you are running a 2 bar map.

Here's the tune and data log. Data log was done leaving my shop, pulled out of parking lot and then full throttle, then stop light sitting in traffic along with some random driving around. Hopefully this helps

It's going to be impossible to see how much boost you are running with HP Tuners because you are not running a 2 BAR map sensor. The map kpa is going to max out around 120 with the 1 bar map sensor.

The tune is a typical dyno shop tune though, they just disable the VVE and tune MAF only which is just a quick and dirty way of tuning a GEN 4 engine/computer combo. They never wish to take the time to tune them properly, tuning the VVE takes time and even in MAF mode the VVE still used and needs to be tuned for fueling transients.

I never saw the tune enter power enrichment either and the fuel trims are pulling fuel at WOT. Is it still running the factory 38lb/hr injectors?? Those seems way too small to be wanting to run 9lbs of boost.

I'll pick up a different MAP sensor for it and try to get that setup. It has the 42lb injectors that came with the charger. He said the injectors were at 88% duty cycle when he finished the tuning. The Suburban it came off of ran these same injectors at 9lbs. They tuned my turbo car as well and its like the same thing with the truck. Quick tune, in and out the door. Left the car a week and a half after it was for the most part tuned and it still isn't where I was happy. Nobody around here to do them.

Whenever you get a 2 bar map sensor, you just have to change the linear and offset settings for the new sensor, then log the 2 bar map channel to see it.

If I read the tune right, they didn't change the tune for the larger injectors. The tune file shows 38lb/hr at 408kpa or 4 bar. If the injectors you installed are 42lb at 4 bar, then that needs to be changed too along with any other voltage settings for the injectors.

Not sure there, he's the one that told me they were 42lb at 60psi. There a certain vehicle to get that 2bar out of?

Yea you need a lot of work on that. You dont HAVE to get a 2bar sensor, but it does make some things easier.

Use the attached channel list and drive around a bit more with just 1 WOT run through a shift, dont need to be on it forever to get an idea whats going on. The stuff you were logging isnt that useful, so this file has some more stuff in it.

Boost with the blower should be very consistent. Surging like that means either your boost gauge is wrong, or the bypass valve is freaking out. Most likely its the bypass valve, which also explains the low boost.
