i would change the trans first why let the one you have die might as well sell it while its working, and i am in the same situation as you and several have recommended good valve springs at least when going over 8-10 pounds i have been on 8lb and no issue and have read some have done 12lb but i prefer to have it on 6lb so i wont risk it while i gather for a cam kit arp bolts and head gaskets....

Get a 4l80e swap asap.

Upgrade to Ebay or ARP head studs and all bolts. Gap rings for boost.

Im guessing youll be on pump gas right?

That's what I plan in doing. Buying a 4l80e, shift kit and converter then do a turbo setup. No sense in buying a turbo kit when the trans will go out pretty quickly soon after.

The engine should be ok at that level with meth and a good tune. The trans is another story, do that swap first before you break the 60E. I would upgrade your valve train for those boost levels, stock springs dont like much boost.

THanks everyone, i just buy a 4L80E, stock converter for the moment, will start installing it, i already read what it needs to be done, retune, rewire harness, and some others mods.. I have a 6L80E too, im sure i can successfully install it, wich one u think is better?

About the Fuel, 80lb siemens, and twin 255 walbros, and corvette fuel filter/regulator will be ok for 14-15 lbs?

thanks to everyone now i know is better if i upgrade those parts:

RING GAP: what size?
VALVE SPRINGS: Wich ones?
ARP HEAD STUDS, BOLTS
HEAD GASKET: Wich one?

Stay with 4L80e. Less headaches.

I've been told the stock cam hates anything more than 12 psi. Sure the new springs, studs, fuel, etc.... Will take it but the stock cam hates it and is why cam upgrades, esp w boost, are very common and deliver serious results. Only reason I haven't done all that w mine is because I am trading it in on a new one.
