new transcooler 03 Savana 1500 195K miles unknow service history
planning to use this van as primary tow vehicle, even though the 04 express 3500 has the 6 litre engine
this RV van weights in at just over (empty holding tanks) 8100LBs she tows good but I believe the lighter 1500 will a better option, plus I can see out the rear windows for backing up.
I can backup looking out the driver window for getting lined up then the mirror for completing the back up but am used to just looking out rear window the 3500 RV van has curtains an also peeking tom prevention one way perforated window film.the 1500 only has factory tinted windows.

note I haven't towed in over 6 years of upsiddown world.
here's the oil trans fuild that dripped out the radiator appears burnt but does have a tad of redness image.
I got my HP tuner today and copied my 2004 GMC Savannah 2500HD rev limiter onto my truck so it’ll bounce and not just cut the fuel. I’m just wondering what do I need to do to squeeze out the max power I can before I do a cam and heads because it’ll probably be a while before I do that. It does have aftermarket wiseco pistons that did raise the compression a little bit
Edit: forgot to mention I want to eliminate the throttle lag as it is a drive by wire

I recently cammed my 5.3 and just got it back from the tuner and I'm not impressed... just need some advice if its just me or tuning issues as I don't know a whole lot when it comes to tuning or cams. I have a 08 5.3 that I just did a decent amount of motor work on. I got it back from the tuner and on the ride home I noticed it pushing thru the brakes pretty decently (which i heard is somewhat normal), Idle cranked up to about 900 or so and bounces to around 1200 in gear (so high it doesn't really lope just sounds like I'm holding it open), neutral automatically kicks the idle to 2k-3k so if I hop in N at a light I essentially neutral dump it. It also feels insanely sluggish compared to stock so I'm bummed. Dyno sheet says 298hp and 295ft-lbs. I'll be even more bummed if I just put all of this money and effort in just to make stock numbers and not so great drivability. Deal with it? Take it back? Could it be mechanical? Any insight would be much appreciated! Here's what I got done:

I’m looking for suggestions on a 450-500 HP build for my 6.0. It had lost compression almost a year ago and I did a piston job on it. What I want to do now if make it close to 500 HP. My current parts is a comp cam, a set of 799 heads, 8.1L injectors, an HP Tuner, and possibly some shorty headers if I can see any benefit from them. It currently has wiseco pistons in it
the cam I plan on running is a Comp Cam XFI RPM Cam 54-412-11 the specs are
Advertised Duration 265/271, Lift .522/.529
I plan on reusing the lifters and push rods since the engine only has 160,000 miles and they haven’t been making noise. Since it is my daily I don’t want a race cam because like I just stated it’s my daily and I use it for towing so I want more low end power and torque
Just swapped engine in my Dad's truck that has been sitting for a couple years the transmission was fine when engine was blown and truck was parked. I replaced the engine, flex plate, torque converter. in the linked video below the truck is in Reverse and when i say "ok" it get put in Park. it makes this noise in R,D,3,2,1 but not in P or N. it will drive (drove it down my driveway and back)

I recently got a 2000 Chevy 1500 with a cammed 5.3. Unsure of the trans or if it has a stall converter matched for the cam. I got in it the other day and shifted into drive and it slammed into gear and made a banging noise in the rear differential. It drives smooth, shifts smoothly until I turn at a light where its idle is low. I can hear the rear differential make that banging sound. I’ve taken the bed off to diagnose it and the banging is definitely coming from the diff. But why? Why is it so hard? Thanks in advance!
