Default Official Texas Truck Shootout information Dec 13 2008

EDIT 9/29/08 - the private track rental portion of this is not happening. We need 47 people to sign up in 2 days. This thread will be kept open for discussion of a GTG without a private track rental.

Who: Anyone with a truck and a desire to meet, hang out, and race.

What: Private track rental day!

Where: Houston Raceway Park in Houston, TX

When: Saturday, December 13, 2008, 9am to 5pm

Why: Because it's gonna be a damn good time!!

Payment information
This is a private track rental day, which costs a significant amount of money. Here's the deal. I need everyone who is coming to RSVP by paying in advance for this event, no later than October 1, 2008. I have set up a special paypal account to handle the funds for this. I need a minimum of 60 trucks to attend this event to make it happen, which means that I am going to require a payment of $103.30 per RACING VEHICLE to cover the expenses. That is broken down into $100 for the rental and $3.30 to cover paypal's 2.9% + 0.30 fees.

What happens if we do not get 60 trucks to register?

IF WE DO NOT HAVE 60 TRUCKS REGISTERED BY OCTOBER 1, THIS EVENT WILL NOT HAPPEN.

In the event that we DO NOT have enough people register by paying, everyone that has paid will be refunded almost all of their money. I cannot reclaim the paypal fees, so unfortunately the extra $3.30 that paypal takes when you pay me is gone like a fart in the wind, as is another $3 or so when I send your money back to you. If the track rental does not happen, you will be out something like $6-7 in fees that I cannot refund. I'm sorry, but there is nothing I can do about this.

What happens if there are MORE than 60 trucks that register?

In the event that we have more trucks come and end up with an excess amount of money coming in, I will split the excess evenly across the paying attendees AFTER the event is over and all bills have been paid.

How do I register for this event?

Paypal $103.30 for each vehicle you will be racing to **REMOVED** and include your name, address, phone number, screen name, "home" forum, and expected number of spectators. Once payment has been received, I will add your name to the Official Attendees list.

PLEASE NOTE - ONCE YOU HAVE SUBMITTED PAYMENT, IT IS NON-REFUNDABLE UNLESS THE EVENT IS CANCELED.

What happens in the event of a rain-out?

If the event is completely rained out, we will not be responsible for paying anything, which means that everyone will get a refund minus the paypal fees detailed above.

I think that about covers it for now.

Thanks guys, and I can't wait for December!!!!
