Just remember if you do put a cam in that 4.8, then you will need a good 2600+ stall.. thats if the cam is over 210ish in size. These trucks and their weights are as good to mods as our cars..
I have the 220/220 cam in mine and cnt even tell its there.. idles like stock.. 3000stall felt to big at first, but now it feels to small
if anything, just get the cold air kit, pulley, maybe a set of good LT headers and a 2600 stall.. then you are good to go. It wont be hellova fast, but it will be faster than the stock 4.8's...
Larry had to add a cam, tuning, headers, CAI, and a 150shot to beat my 5.3 stock... BWHAHAHAHHAHHAAHAHAHAH... see how long before he sees this and replies

My main objective is to keep it good for towing. I'll race it for fun with a few mods, but I'm not gonna go too crazy. The radix is the farthest I'll go, cause that doesn't really effect the towing or driveability and it makes great torque. I'd rather stay away from putting a cam and converter in it. Headers - maybe. Catback and pulley - no problem.

I saw the title of this thread, "I gotta do some mods!" and I figured I am finally get something for nothing being a "mod" and all.
When time and money comes, slap a radix on it for ease of installation and warranty and you'll be a tough truck for anybody that wants to get frisky with ya on the street. You have the car to sling money at in the mean time. Just remember, I think it's more addicting to go fast in something that feels like it shouldn't be going fast, ie; Heavy *** truck.
