Trick to STS swap

3 Attachment(s)
So I finished the swap and headed to the dyno today. I still need to fix a few issues and work on the tune a little but I got some comparison numbers. I have attached the dyno sheets for comparison. The STS kept up better than I thought but look at the power under the curve with the faster spool time.

Low boost off the wastegate spring
STS - 7.75psi
Trick - 6.75psi

STS - 405/419
Trick - 400/430

More boost

STS - 12psi
Trick - 12psi

STS - 544/571
Trick - 559/622

Final pull

STS - couldn't load past 12psi on the dyno
Trick - 14.5psi spike and settles to 13.5psi

Trick - 610/660

I need to figure out why the boost is dropping 1-1.5psi after it spikes but I'm pretty happy so far. The uncorrected numbers today were 627/677 so it feels very good on the street. Also the last pull was run #104 on this stock Lq4 and it keeps on taking a beating. I might switch to 3bar and see what it will take.

Glad you got it running! Nice numbers, about what I would expect. The rear really doesnt give up any pk power. Which AR housing were you running on both setups?

I thought the rear mount would give up a little more power the way everybody talks about them. I can't complain about the STS. I had a lot of fun with it over the last two years and Kyle needed to sell it anyways.

I was running the 1.15 housing on the STS and the .96 on the Trick. I picked up about 15-20 with the 1.15 housing on the STS kit so it would have been cool to run that on the Trick.

good thing about the sts is the IAT's are good. which is were a good bit of power can be made

nice numbers, i would have thought the front mount would have made alot more than the rear mount, guess they arent so bad after all lol

On low boost I am seeing a 30 degree increase in IAT's with the Trick over the STS. On high boost it doesn't matter with the meth.

Thanks. I normally run 19 degrees on high boost but I tried 21 degrees on the last pull and it only picked up 2hp so I'm going back to 19.

This is some great comparison info!! Thanks for posting this up. There's alot more under the curve power that was lost from the STS than I would have originally thought! Very cool! :thumb:
