I wouldn't worry about the dyno numbers as much but the track time seems a bit high to me given you should be close to sea level. Unless of course you had traction issues and/or the 18" wheels and tires are slowing you down. You can see my time in my sig along with mods (bone stock Lq9 swap). I figure we are about the same weight so I would think you would be at least as fast as me if not faster with the cam. But hey, if your happy with it then that's all that matters

The 26" tires no doubt help your gear ratio, and you still have a 60E in your truck - steeper 1st gear has to help get it rolling better. It would be nice if it was faster, but at the end of the day - it is what it is. I have never weighed a wheel and tire off of my truck, Continental says my tires by themselves are 40lbs each.

I think LTs and a bigger cat back will wake it up, my end goal is to sneak into the 13.90s - 100% in the trim that I drive it every day. A set of F-Body efans are coming soon. I hear that it should help add about 7-10 up top. I'll have the tune tweaked some more when I upgrade the exhaust, it has a basic, safe street tune currently.

I think you can get a 13.90 no problem. Do you have a stall? That would really help get the 80E moving off the line and would probably get you into the 13's by itself. I just installed LTs and an ORY along with a Circle D 3200 stall. Waiting for the tracks to open back up to see how much they helped.

Factory torque converter, hoping to leave it in there. But, won't completely rule one out.

I would have thought it had more. My 5.3 went 14.5 stock except Diablo sport programmer and borla muffler. Regular street tires. 2.2 60'. You should easily see 13s especially when you get exhaust and efans.

Even a tight 2600-2800 would help out tremendously over the stock converter especially with the bigger-than-stock cam. They would complement each other nicely and you shouldn't loose too much if any daily drivability.

Like I said, my 5.3 only went 15.6 - no where near as quick as what others are reporting. I added an Airaid MIT and cut the bottom of my air box open, slowed about a tenth.

I seriously doubt it would hurt drivability at all. I need to speak to Circle D more when I am ready. My main concern is towing capacity. As long as I can safely pull 5000-6000 lbs - I'm good. (My 72' is 3900+, my open trailer is 1500+)
