lightning lowering ???

lightning lowering ???
i have a buddy that has an older style lightning (93 or 94 or something). he would like to lower it but isnt sure how low he can go with it or who to buy a lowering kit from, can anybody give some advice? it is a daily driver and will remain that way on the horrible Virginia roads so rubbing can not be an issue. thanks in advance.
