Default Effects of Shorter Tires & Larger Wheels ?

So I traded in the trusty crusty Mini van for a 2013 Dodge Charger R/T Plus which includes the SDDS Sport Suspension option. Loving it.

Well I get back into my pride and joy Maggie Charged 2005 Silverado 4x4 Z71 and what a tank! I better be careful in the turns after driving the R/T for a while heh!

So now I want to shed some of the body roll in the truck which I suspect is partly from the 275/785 R-17 tires.

Would going to 20" rims on 265/65R tires do much for stability? Haw about sway bars?

I run 3.42:1 gears. How would that workout as far as felt 0-60 times?

Thanks

As long as the overall diameter doesn't change, it shouldn't be too much of a difference.

Thanks,

I guess my next question is if aftermarket sway bars help much with body roll on a truck like mine, Ext cab 4x4.

I realize 265/75R-17's are balloon like sorta.

If you go to a 20 that is not all that heavy and a factory diamater tire (275/55)you will negate some of the negative effect of more rolling mass my going back to the stock diameter. You will also feel some positive effects on how squishy it feels in the corner... but it wont be night and day.

sway bars will definitely help as well. The combo will have an effect you can feel.

Thanks, looks like I'll try a set of Helwig sways first. Then maybe later a set of late model take off wheels.
