Default which wire??

i have heard that theres a wire you can cut to disable TM and was wondering which one it was. my buddy has a newer body style dodge 4x4 with the 4.7 i think, auto, 3.92 gears front and rear, and 35's, with 3" body lift, dont know what year. and i told him about it and he wants to do it.

That only works on an 03'. In the TCM there is a green wire with a yellow stripe. On the plastic connector (after you unplug the connector) there is a number 10 stamped into the plastic next to it. Just remove the wire from the connector don't cut it. This will void the warranty if there still is one, and sets a permanent code in the computer. No check engine light will come on though. With 35" tires you may break something with a hard shift on the pavement. Good Luck.

If he has money to spend, go for it. I did it to mine and no problem yet. Mine is strictly street but tire size comes out to 31" total. I've also installed a shift kit and 4.56 gears.
