Default Traction Help

Moderators please delete the thread in the offroad suspension section..I put it there by mistake...I'm reposting the thread here.

Ok..I went to the track again last night and attempted to make 2 passes...roasted the tires both times...I'm so irritated I just want to put my truck back to stock and say screw it...I have yet to get my truck to click on all cylinders at the track..it's always something working against me...I have home made traction bars and run M&H Dr's....I just can not get it to the ground...i run about 15 lbs. in the tires and i heat the **** out of them.

I'm at a loss...do I just need to go on to real slicks? Will that make that much of a difference?

I'm open to any ideas..Thanks in advance.

real slicks.

set your pinion angle to -3 or -4 and run some spring clamps...if your getting wheel hop get some traction bars. 12 lbs on hoosier 28x10-16 tires with 16x10 wheels worked best with my setup.

you can also try changing your rear shocks to a stiffer shock to control body seperation.

i figured out that sometimes less burnout is better. i run it up to the top of 2nd gear then let off of the brake and feather off the gas...youll feel when its ready to grab. it should make a loud screaching noise and lunge forward.

this is a few things that ive found to help me.

Only a 1.7 60' here. But I run 275/55/16 M&H radials on stock wheels, homebrew spring clamps, stock shocks and drop shackles no shims. Dead hook with 22 lbs in the tires and no wheel hop

I have traction bars already...Any links to spring clamps? I don't know what they are..On my burn outs I just leave it in drive and smoke the tires hard for a good 10 seconds or so..I have been running about 15lbs. in my DR's...I seem to be getting both wheel hop and spinning...just depends on the pass..lol DOH!

I run 17 in M&H's..the tallest tire i could find since I run with my 22's on the front.

Thanks for the help guys...Just FYI I run a maggie about 8 lbs. of boost and a 75 shot of nitrous amongst other things.
