Ohhh, there it is. That's the post we've been waiting for. The one where you look for pity and try to justify why all you do is talk **** instead of upgrade your ****. You can't afford it. So you live your life at the track trash talking people who are into the sport but aren't there racing you. So check this out...if you'd ever like to make your pile of **** faster, consider going to school or looking for a new job instead of wasting your time trying to get a rise out of people who actually have those nice jobs that pay for nice things... I guarantee when you start looking for that pay raise, or sign up for a class at the local community college, or god forbid you get busy with a family...you might find yourself in the shoes of people on this site who view drag racing as a hobby and not a lifestyle, pitching a tent in the ******* pits. Think long and hard chief...maybe if any of that sinks through your thick skull, you'll be able to think clearly long enough to realize there's truth in what I am saying.

Seriously angry guy? You think you've got the downlow on where I've been & what I do?

Whatever.

But just to clarify a few points. I've got an undergrad and a master's degree. I worked 11 years in an office job making enough money to build a Performance Truck. Unfortunately, I lost that job when the market took a crap. At the time, there was an opening at the local chapter of Habitat For Humanity where I had been volunteering since 1999. So, I CHOSE to take a 60% paycut and do something that I enjoyed instead of sitting unhappily hunched over a computer all day. I've been there for coming-up-on 5 years. I choose to stay there until the day that I'm no longer happy. Since I'm 40 and my wife is 51, we've decided against kids, so the family is set where it is. I don't live my life at the track. I already said that I've been racing 3 times since December of 2011, so I'm not sure what you're even talking about.

So, I guess long story short, that was NOT a plea for pity. He asked if I was going to change my combo (while insinuating that I have a hamster & rubber band setup, if you'll recall). I told him that I couldn't afford to update my 5year old combo. Not sure why you are in here in my thread about drag racing trying to psycho-analyze my lifestyle and my approach to racing and my family history... but you're wrong on almost every facet that you chose to attack.

So, I'm still not sure what's so time-intensive about a Friday night trip to the track. There's actually a few people who've posted in here about showing up. Are they all in the same boat as me? Do they need to get this through their thick skulls too?

That's what IM saying, id be down for anything. I've raced one truck in the past year and even then I had to turn it down to 12psi. So IM stuck racing vetts, no fast trucks out here

No, they're not in the same boat as you. You're all by yourself with that one, and f22 is your first mate. The rest of us don't care for your flapping mouth. Nobody cares what has happened in your life or why you have become a 40 year old grown *** man who acts like he is 16. But rest assured, we will let you know you're acting like a child... I'm not alone in that opinion; I'm just the first person who is going to come out and say it.

What time does the track open? My truck is apart at the moment so I can replace some parts in the front axle that have been acting up, but it should be back together soon.
