Racestar/Bogarts vs Steelies
So the time has come for me to get some slicks for my Silverado. I'll be going with a set of 15" for slicks selection but the thing I keep wondering is, are the higher dollar Bogarts or RaceStars really worth the extra coin versus the $75 steel wheels? What's the weight difference? ET improvement? I just figured it was more baller status than anything. What is y'alls opinion?

I like the looks of the bogarts but unless you're a hardcore racer I don't see why anyone would buy them for the weight savings. A set of those rims will buy you a lot of engine work.

My opinion, I'd say the bogart route is first and foremost to attain this "baller status" you speak of. They look killer, but they are light and likely provide some performance gain as you are loosing unsprung rotating weight. If you have the money.......it's the way to go.
When I first started modding and racing my truck, I bought 2 used 16" tahoe wheels off ebay and ran a 26x11.5x16 M/T ET Street tire and just bolted them on when I went to the track. I actually got a good enough deal buying a set of 4 tahoe wheels and selling the other two to recover the money. Basically ended up with them for free. They worked great and it was a cheap solution. Because my truck at the time was 100% stock externally and suspension wise, it was an easy way to go and didn't look bad. I only went full retard on double beadlocked bogart rears and bogart fronts when I did some suspension/chassis mods and was ready to attain my "baller status" card.
Here is a pic with the stock ****:
Then when I had a little money to work on the chassis:
