Talking Raced my daily beater 2002 Z71 over the weekend

Try not to laugh to much...I did go to the 2nd round, lol

I hurt my back, so couldn't squirm around the rollcage in my car, a big tire 69 Camaro. Decided that since I had attended every Outlaw Streetcar Shootout race this year, I was just going to "race" my tow vehicle/daily driver, and get the points....

It's a "build" that really isn't a build at all...just one of the 1st trucks here with the infamous Ebay longtubes...
Aside from the Ebay longtubes (which are still hanging tough several years later), I have just basic free, or near free, mods...
Ported throttle body
LS1 F body fan setup
Homemade cold air kit using stock airbox
Dynomax 3" Y pipe back
HPTuners 87 octane tune (by me)

Truck is a just under 200,000 mile 5.3, 4 wheel drive, ECSB with chrome steel wheels, and a covered bed full of various junk...lol.

60' ---- 2.437
330 ----- 6.737
1/8 ET -- 10.27
1/8 MPH -- 69.79
1000' ----13.281
1/4 ET --- 15.82
1/4 MPH --- 88.48

Nowhere even close to alot of you guys, but just wanted to share...I was pretty pleased since I regularly see new, stockish, diesel trucks run at the same track, slower than that...which is pretty darn slow compared to a low 9 second car, I admit....still had fun, lol.

In truck video, hopefully you don't fall asleep...

The ole girl still looks pretty good, I think...

Attached one of the beast I usually race...which is a little faster than the truck, lol

Not bad at all. You had fun which I think is the whole point! For comparison I had a bone stock 70 Camaro SS 350 that only ran a 15.01 @90 mph its only time out spinning on F70x15 wide ovals. Its amazing these trucks have a similar mph being so much heavier. Technology moving on...

I would bet a set of 4.56 gears, and some more spark advance would put that stock truck solid into the low 14's

Oh, I'm sure it would...but this is my daily/tow vehicle. It does great pulling my open trailer and 3200# Camaro. It has 3.73's.

I had hoped to weigh it there, but forgot to do so before I left.

Racing is Racing, no matter what, it's fun to do! I use to race every Camaro, Corvette, Mudstaing, 300Z, etc... in my '83 GMC Sonoma with a smoking (literally) 6 banger.

I was banging gears at every stop light, not sure the people I was racing even knew it was a race. I had a snarl on my face and a checkered flag in my eyes so it was on!!

Even the wife's car, I'm in a constant battle with Camary's and Maxima's at any given time. Show me a green light and I will show you a ......... well nothing really but I'm not about to back down from some rice burner!!
