New world record sbe 4.8!

3 Attachment(s)
Finally got that 9 second record pass on the twin turbo 4.8.
Still fighting a few issues so once we get those lined out we will be back to the track to hopefully get a new best again.
Truck is still full weight full interior leaf spring suspension.
Race weight is right at 4400# with me in it.

Congrats on ur 9s pass bro.....several out there running 9.9s but if I am not mistaken they have not got 9.8......truck is moving for sure......clean out the bugs let's see how low into the 9s u can get

walledition 10-02-2016 03:38 PM

I was waiting for this thread, congrats again man

jtphelps289 10-02-2016 06:39 PM

Damn that thing is moving!!!

Jake75 10-02-2016 07:29 PM

Nice pass! How much boost did it take?

03regcab sierra 10-02-2016 08:54 PM

Peak boost is at 25psi but the controller was causing boost to fluctuate back and forth from 25psi down to 18psi.
I am hoping to find the fix soon and turn it up some more. Gonna try 27psi next time out

Blown06 10-03-2016 03:13 AM

Fuel and timing?

Choda 10-03-2016 05:29 AM

Congrats

E85 fuel and 17* timing. It made 953rwhp on a mustang dyno

crazy numbers for sure out of this thing

EmmerichLSx 10-06-2016 09:15 PM

I was curious about your rear leaf spring set up. Traction bars and no overloads?

Caltracs and factory leaf springs with overload removed.
I use strange 12 way single adjustable shocks relocated to the rear

Just got it back off the dyno. We were fighting a fuel pressure drop turned out one of the walbro 450s was weak. After replacing the pump we tuned the boost up one more psi. Made 976hp 821tq on 26psi boost

Blown06 10-09-2016 01:49 AM

You guys certainly have it figured out, and to be honest, shit like this just makes me throw rocks at my truck. I made one pass at 26 psi with mine, and even though I was having to launch at only 7* of timing ramped over 1 second to get it to leave and the head gaskets where already trashed on 7 of the 8 holes, my mph and weight would suggest that I probably wasn't making more than 100 or so horsepower more than you guys.....and I'm on a built 408 with a solid roller cam.

Fuckin turbo trucks......

You have more stroke and bore, your gonna lift sooner.

Vortec350ss 10-09-2016 01:08 PM

And your engine feels like it's making far more than 100 more... what is your drive loss from the blower? 150? More? That means the cylinders feel like they're makin way more power... that's where a turbo becomes hugely beneficial at these power levels.

Great run!

badazzz06 10-09-2016 04:01 PM

Awesome sauce!!! Bad ass!

According to the testing that Morris has done, the F2 at the blower speed I was running.......it soaks up 250 hp. So if I was getting a true 1100 through the flywheel, the bottom end and head gaskets where feeling 1350 or so.

That's robbing quite a bit of power but hey it pushes your truck to an 8 second pass so it's impressive none the less.

I'm calculating the truck to be about 1100 flywheel hp. Having a 4l80e trans and a 14 bolt rear axle it's robbing a lot of power as well.

Going back to test this Friday. If we can put the power to the ground I'm hoping to run a little better than last time out.

03sierraslt 10-10-2016 10:22 AM

Believe it or not the 80e doesn't rob hardly any more then a 60e. The mechanical advantage in lower gears is different due to the ratios but in a true 3rd 1-1 pull they are similar.
