New meats are in and tucked... Had to kiss the leafs a little on the front side but I got 13.5+" section width all under the truck. Pretty happy with the look, hope it hooks on these no prep races I'm starting to do here in Minot. I went against using a spacer and took .25" off the front of the leafs. The rear portion of the leafs cleared. Some may disagree with it, I'll post back in the future if I have any issues. I look out 4" and .25 in, both sides. Setup is 11" Bogarts, 7.5" back spacing, 315/60r15 m/t radial pro's. Looks like if you wanted to save the trouble , 7" backspace would be the ticket.

I got looked at like I was a complete moron when I asked about grinding clearance into the leaf spring when I ran into this. I found another solution so never tried it. Anxious to see how it works out for you.

Also, depending on suspension travel, it looks like the inner fender lip could get into that tire......

This is what I was dealing with when I asked the question:

I've talked to a couple very reputable Lightning guys that have 31" slicks that did the same thing years ago and have had no issues before I deciding to go forward with it. I knew the 315s would need some room. I wasn't going to take more then .25 though. That's 2.25" to the original 2.5 leafs in that area. I will report back, it looks like I'll have about 12" of rubber on the ground with these 11" rims, so it's a meaty setup. They turned freely mounted up, I just gave them some room. I drove around some tonight and made some tight turns and quick turns and so far so good on clearance.

Also my cal-tracs raise it on launch. I'd have to get a couple big boys in the back jumping to see if it would rub under a bump. I also have load bags to raise it some for street if need be.

I would get the right wheels before doing that, but that's just me.

I tucked 315 ET street radials on Bogarts just fine.

But clearancing the leaf is better than cutting down a tire and killing yourself

Got stationed at Minot? I ran a bunch at magic city 1/8 back in 2014, not a bad little track. Nearest 1/4 is Minnesota though, or pierre, SD

Ive ran my 454ss with the front of the leafs ground 1/4" like this for years now. Never an issue thus far. Had to do it when i ran a 315-60-15 aswell.

The truck looks badass on those wheel's and tire's Foose!!

Good to hear Bigblock, thanks for sharing. I'll keep an eye on them but I don't think it will be a issue no more then I took out.

Sure did man, they got me lol. From next to the beach to next to Canada. Lol Yeah 1/4 mile is a good ways away. They started a no times/arm drop/ top 10 list last weekend and I was able to get to 7th out of 12 cars on the 20s. Now it's time to go back and do some work. swingit lol next race is next weekend.

Also so far so good with those clearances driving to today. The truck dead hooks from a 50 roll in seconds at 20psi/16 degree's in it, so looks promising. Didn't try any lower, wanted to check the tires for rubs first.

lol where was all this support when I wanted to hack my springs?

I think you'll be fine. We are all waiting for you to get back to the track and then back on the boat to post some "pics", know what I mean?

Are those pics from the MN track?

I sold my 06 single cab sierra to the owner up there, it's a long bed with a 2/4 drop. Said it's going to a recovery truck/shop truck up there.
