LS1 Dodge Ram goes 12.95 @ 101
#1
Went to the track last sat night and got a new best time in the old beast while finding some issues.
First pass
1.90 60'
12.97 @ 101 mph 75 shot
second
1.78 60'
12.98 @ 99 100 shot
motor 3rd pass
1.92 60'
13.6 @ 94 mph
First pass went great so I decided to up the jets...I data logged it and it looked fine during the run.....
2nd pass on the 100 shot if sounded like it was pinging and pulled 3 degrees of KR on my data log.
I put the 75 back in and made a motor pass...still didn't feel right, cut out ever so slightly...best before on motor was 13.4 @ 96mph last year
I left the track whitch is 110 miles from home...got on the interstate and the truck made 2 more runs on motor from a 20 roll, no cutting out.
The next day I pulled the fuel filter off (I run a 98 camaro filter) replaced it, cut the old one open...had some rust in it on the filter and was dark...haven't tried to spray the truck since, but I'm sure this is the issue...
When I did the swap I remember the feed line from the dodge tank only being 5/16....then I adapted it to the 3/8 camaro line/ls1 setup...the return on the 1998 corvette fuel rail is 5/16 and I even had to neck that down to 1/4 on the dodge tank..
so I guess this will be my next upgrade....bigger feed lines from the tank, or a completely new GM tank...and maybe a wideband
Waitin on my buddy to get the videos from his camera
