Let the guessing game begin (going to the track this weekend)
I have been dieing to get to the track with all the changes to the truck. So, let's see who has the best guess on what the new combo will run on it's maiden voyage.
Old combo weighed 3,525 with out the tailgate and made 402rwhp with an unlocked converter (4L80E). Went 11.45@118 (with the verter locked 2nd and 3rd, 115mph unlocked). New combo weighs 3,300 with the tail gate and now makes 546rwhp through a powerglige. If I can get it to work with out the gate, it will weigh 3,175. Obviously I have a lot to sort out with the new 4-link, double adjustable rear shocks, different trans, automatic shifter, and trans brake. I have 2 nights to play with it, so what's your guess? |

So the changes:
347ci to 418ci (old time to new time) 11-1cr to 13-1cr 91 octane to E48 Ported stock heads on the 347, PRC 237's on the 418 Trex in the 347, 254/260 .629/.615 in the 418 4l80e with fuddle 4500 rpm verter to powerglide with 5,400 rpm verter. Factory rear suspension to 4-link Everything else about the same. |
i thought the tfs 225 heads were meant for a 4" bore and up?

What gear are you running?
|
Sorry, there was a slight typo above. I had AFR 225's on the 418 when I first got it running.
I have a 4.56 gear and 30" drag radial. |
Well, I am out of gear about 50-100 feet before the line.
Best pass so far: 1.608 6.80 @ 103.58 10.696 @ 119.89 This pass was my first trans brake launch. I did my burn out, staged, got on the 2step (3,500) lights go green and I let off the foot brake but don't move. Uhhh dummy, let go of the button. I lifted a little but stabed it and let go of the button. I let off juat after the 1,000 foot mark. 2nd best pass: 1.647 6.846 @ 103.682 10.71 @ 123.11 00103 - YouTube |
