Launch questions....

Hey guys whats up?....I have a couple quick questions about launching at the strip. Im gonna do this real soon and for the first time in this truck. I have aRCSB Silverado....5.3 4l60E...3.73 G80 rear w/ factory 20's...275/55/20....what kinf of launch techniques do you guys use?....Its gonna be on an 1/8.....How much of burn out..if any...street tires btw.....what kind of RPM's do you launch at?...and do you leave yours in OD?...put it in 3?...Tow/Haul off or on?.......I also have a tune from Wait4Me....his Tow/Haul Ass tune.....any help would be appricated. I'm just curious of times so I know what I shave off as I mod it. So "racing" isnt important, its just informational. But at the same time, I dont want to look like an ass out the either..lol...Thanx... :burn:

I would drive around the water, do enough burnout to just clean the tires off, and run it in Tow/Haul mode. I would stall it to about 1100-1200 and "lean" into the throttle of the line more than stabbing it. There is a video on video.performancetrucks.net named (02 silverado vs. pulied harley truck) where I was driving the Wood Hauler's truck. I used basically the same launch mentioned above and his truck has a 3000 stall and some worn out factory michelins. Once I got out a little I was able to nail it and get on the button (75 shot). Hope this helps!

:stupid:

water pit is useless on street tires, and roasting the tires off of street tires just looks cool  go around the water pit and give the tires a good 3 or 4 revolutions. i stall mine up right at or just over 1000 rpm and roll into it until im out about 15 feet. then you can stomp into it. you might be able to get into it harder than me since your on 20's with wider tires than my crappy arse 245/70-17's. try dropping the tire pressure to about 20 psi if you cant get any traction.

i can average 2.25 60' in the ecsb doing this on factory generals. you should easily match or beat it. take notes of what you do different every run and keep doing what works best :) tell us how it goes.

I cut a 1.9 on crappy stock tires in 2wd with 40k miles. Let em down to 20-15 psi dust em off-no water- stall that bitch as high as shell go if youve got the stock verter
good luck

='s a long nasty burnout in my experience. hopefully that will change a little with new rubber
