Help me out with tire height

I've got a pair of 16" wheels I swap at the track for my '04 rcsb Silverado. These will be track only tires, not for daily driving. I've made up my mind on Hoosier slicks, just trying to decide on how tall. (Trying to include as much info as I can) Mods are 224r 114 lsa cam, tune, circle d 3200, true trac with 4.11 gears, long tubes with cutout, roughly 4300 lbs race weight, 4/6 drop with flip kit/c notch, clamped the overload springs, built 60e, shifting around 6400-6600 rpm. It made 345 rwhp and 345 rwtq. Almost at sea level, 1/4 mile track. Should I run 26x10.0-16 or 28x10.0-16? I tried searching but didn't really find my answer.

I run 28x10 x16" on a 03 Silverado ss running 10.60 in the 1/4 @127mph

At your power level I'm thinking 26. They'll give you a little more gear, the 28's should hook better.

Sounds like a 28 does you good. I don't make as much power as you, sounds like you need a 28 so I don't know if I'd benifit more from a 26 or not.

That's what I was thinking. But how long would a 26 last me? If I added a 100 shot at some point would I need a 28 then you think?

Man I've got some brand new 295/50/16 m&h drag radials, still got stickers on them, there 26's, $400 plus the ride if you interested

That's a good deal. I've ran drag radials in the past and really wanted to go with some bias ply slicks this time. Plus I don't think I'd want to put a 295 on a 8.5 wide rim lol. Thanks though

Its going to depend on your setup. Probably the only way to know is to try them.

Yeah that's true. I'd hate to get the 26s and they be too short. It'd be nice if someone I knew local had some 26s I could try. May just have to play it safe and go 28s.

Well I can end this debate real quick. Since I want Hoosier slicks, I have to get 28s. I haven't found any 26s looking on Summit or Jegs. So that's that.
