Needless to say, the 4.8s have proven to be performers with the right combo of parts. 13s with bolt-ons out of a 4.8 will be doing good, good luck

No my truck never blew and never had an issue. I pulled the engine and will be putting the 408 in the next week or two.

The reason it makes me laugh is that you guys are so proud of you nearly max effort 4.8 builds that run 14s. I was excited when I ran 14.2 but that was with a converter and a tune. I would have been upset if I had a cam, LTs, and all sorts of mods and made those times.

Foose and the guys boosting these motors still blow my mind because they are running some amazing times especialy for such a small engine.

 

you ran a 14.2 with a reg cab 6.0L with a tune, exhaust, and a converter. I am running a few 10ths behind your 14.2 with an intake, exhaust, tune 4.8 ext cab truck that I drive everyday. Am I proud of that, hell yes. If anyone should be disappointed its you in that rolling nightmare hackjob you call a truck. That thing should be hauled to the nearest scrap yard and crushed so no one gets ahold of any of your hacked up parts.

Mid 14s isn't bad for not having a cam. Most of these guys in the thread have a cam along with everythign else are are running low 14s.

P.S. Most call an exhaust headers back, I only cut off the stock muffler to clarify.

 

How do you consider a bolt on 4.8 a near max effort build? Even Foose's truck isnt a MAX effort build.
