Foose04 Last Track Runs 2016

Well I made the 8 hour round trip drive to the 1/4 mile up here in no where land North Dakota to Top End DragWay. Plan was to get a 6.1x pass and then let it eat on the 1/4 and get the boot.

Well with the track temps barely over 45 and about a 25mph cross wind, they turned the clocks off on the 1/4 and ran 8th only for safety. That said, it proved to be a struggle to leave with any power anyways.

Truck ran good though, was making great power without a issue. I kept the timing super safe at 14-14.5 and only work the boost up to 20 before I couldnt keep it planted when the boost hit.

Only updates from last time down the track is Accel Coil Packs and JakesPerformance 36 Sprag upgrade on his 80E.

Looking forward to a sticky track and letting her eat next year.:judge:

Does your boost controller have a ramp setting? If you are blowing the tires off when the boost hits then a slower ramp will probably help.

what are the second 2 time slips telling us? Sorry I am a little confused.

Truck sounds good as hell. Can't wait to get my truck shifting like that.

Do you do your burn out in second gear?

Just running a Manual Hallmans Pro. Yeah it was right at peak boost, 22mph, and 1.00 seconds in after releasing the trans brake everytime. It maybe time to switch to a controller, but might try a hot/prepped track first. Whats a good budget friendly electric controller you would recommend?

Showing that the track clocks suck. Lol. I didn't get a MPH on the second one and the third had the best 60 and 330, but didn't give me shit for 1/8 and MPH. Track crew told me it was caused by the falling leafs that was blowing across the track. I don't know though.

Thanks man! Yeah, just second gear and roll it out to the beams to keep them clean. I didn't see them spray or prep any that day, just sweeping.

Awesome truck man! Your truck and others inspired me to stick with my 4.8 until it gives up. I know you've moved on to a different engine now though. Anyways, not sure what you consider budget friendly for a boost controller, but I'm considering boost leash products. A friend of mine has had some good success with them: Leash Electronics Not sure if anyone on here has used them or not.

Yea dude truck sounds really clean! Have to be running some type of muffler??

foose04 10-12-2016 06:45 PM

Yeah I've heard a lot of good things about the Leash stuff. Might end up going that direction.

As for exhaust, it's a 4" Borla XR1 muffler, JGS 60mm open gate.
