Default Blown 4.8 runs low 11's

I took deadpool to the strip with a bunch of members this past weekend. We had a great turnout and a some great times were had!

I'll start with my truck:
2006 RCSB 2wd with the 4.8 and 2.9 whipple. I didn't do any weight reduction so I raced it at 4615lbs. It has all the supporting mods and I'm running 16-17psi. 4L80e swapped and it has an ATI converter that is too tight which didn't do me any favors... alright enough excuses. on to the meat.

I made 3 passes. The truck went 11.35 at 122.18 with a 1.763 60' time with just a little spinning. My best 60' of the day was 1.726 with a 1.727 to back it up, so it's pretty darn consistent. My dragtimes calculator puts that at about 650 horsepower at the wheels. Not too shabby! I'll be back next spring with a little less weight and some tweaks - mainly the converter that's killing me now!

I will upload pics shortly.

Kurt managed an 11.1 at 123 with his F1 charged 4.8 making 16-17psi as well. He is in the left lane on that slip! Hsi truck is just a hair lighter than mine, and we make within a couple horsepower of each other!

This is the only video I got of the trucks making a pass. I beat Kurt this run, he beat me just as bad the next time we lined up!

The orange truck is Kurt. @02_orange_D1sc

Red GMC is Tom. @lowridergmc

The suburban is my buddy Mike. Its 6.0 swapped with a T6 VS475. He's a member on here but I forget his name.

I hope so too! The 60' is 95% in the converter at this point... I dead hooked for 2 of the 3 passes and both times were near identical. It needs more nut down low.

Honestly I didn't have much in the way of goals for it this time out. I was hoping 120MPH and breaking into the 11's knowing it was too soft off the line to do anything too crazy - I beat my expectations there. I guess all in I am hoping to make a 10 second pass. I will say I am currently at my HP goal based on MPH and weight with a lot less pulley... If I can get this truck down to 4400 lbs, make very slight tweaks under the hood along with a converter change I think my new goal is to get it to run a 10.7x. Lofty, but after seeing it run this past Sunday I need to aim high.

Here is my list to change so far:
28" race tire instead of the 315 (i'll keep 315's or anything 29.5" for street use.)
Converter - I may go wild with this one. I will likely be working with pro torque
Intake tube so I am not sucking in a ton of hot air
Basic weight reduction to get it down to 4400 with me in it.
I am also going 10 rib just for the looks of it... that will add a little more pulley - I dont expect huge power, but it will make a little more. As this thing sits the blower is barely working, but I know these things get fussy as you jack the boost up.

That leads me to my last conclusion - I think I am going to spray this thing. I will gain a lot more from hitting it with a 50 shot than I will from going to 20PSI. The new pulleys should show me 18ish and then I'll give it a 50 shot to get to my final power numbers. I am thinking I will fuel it with my meth kit

I will have to see what I gain from the nitrous, but maybe a 10.50 at nearly 130 is possible.
