damn good times .. i say keep the 3.42 gear imo. .. its a great gear for street ... and you will just spin wayyy more with a 3.73 or 4.10 ... but thats just my opinion ... i know in cold weather you will have a 12.50 or better time slip .... hope my truck runs somewhere near your time when i get my stall in ...

 

ill be running a uh DR 24/7 390/40/15 29.5" tall, 14" wide and a 17"
rim up front, but when i want to "cruise" for looks only ill have a set of 20x8.5" up front an 20x9.5" for the rear or maybe a 20x10 i dunno yet.

in that slip the other time is that Camaro SS that i ran from a 25 punch and put 2 trucks on it to 100. theres the proof it is a 13.1 car at 105+ but man she can Tree this shii outta me! lol.

the dude in the vette was VERY shocked. i told him im proud he whipped me, he said no you hung very well considering the size/weight of my truck. he asked if i had gears..nope, still 3:42s

My 3.42s owned on the street when I was close to stock. THey're garbage on anything modded or stalled IMO, unless it's a turbo, but even then....

 

i mean i raced that truck in my last vid, he had bigger cam than me and 3,73 gear and he barley pulled me on topend ..

the only way ill get him is if he blows the tires on the take off but damn his truck is insanely fast.

my 3:42s are nice, but honestly the truck pulled so much harder on those 28" DRs than it does on my 265/70/17s imho. i can feel the difference with just a tire swap. if i run 4:10s with that tire/or my 29.5" DR im sure i'll be happy and wont spin the tires tooo much. but it'll help me get into the powerband a lot faster than those 3:42s. like i said....if i hate the 4:10s itll get 3:73s...if i hate those ill go back to 3:42s. but for what it is man, ON 3:42s and a lil cooler weather i have a 12.9 truck....so i built what i wanted. no gear swap and i have a fast *** truck

i can do a few more things to help me, but honestly i dont have a whole lot of money tied up into this....i built the truck to be fun, descently quick, and to not let me down on a trip. this is my Family ride...and it serves it's purpose.

now skipperdaddy on the other hand has a FI 5.3 that will whip the SHII outta my truck, but he has the same problem i have....NO ONE wants to race him on the street

No my truck idles like stock... i mean the ear of a true gear head can tell the idles off just a hair but for the most part u cant hear my cam... my truck is just LOUD!!!!
