Ahh its all a trade off, the chevy averaged lower mpg than the Tundra 17.44 to 17.69. Also weight was 5496lbs on the chevy. I think overall every truck but the chevy had the largest motor available. But a 6.0 would have killed the trucks mileage.

Chevy had the slowest 0-30 time so TM was on

Added the section you all want PS I dont have a scanner so

Well at least it gets great mileage since gas is $1.39 a gal. It should be popular on gas mileage trucks .net. Its really sad that they offer this as competition to the other trucks when the average owner will never get it tuned because he doesn't even realize it can be. All this for only $46,000? I'd rather have a new Vette, what a shame and what a pos and a big disappoinment (at least until it's retuned).

for 46000, i dont know what they put on that 5.3 Silverado, but i just configured a 09 SLT GMC with the 6.2 equipped good for 45000, thats what they should have used anyway.

I would not put ANY faith in what magazines say these trucks can do. I have read these magazines and what they say a vehicle can do in the 1/4, and then I know first hand what they can do, and the magazines are strangely slow.

For example, a couple months ago, one magazine had "tested" the TB SS and had it running a whooping 15.1 in the 1/4.

Different magazines test in different locations, elevations, and different weather. That can attribute to different times than you experience. Some altitude correct thier times, some don't. But the bigest factor, as to the outcome of the test, pivots on who's advertisement follows the article.....check it out.

C&D and Motor Trend are the worst at it. It basically comes down to who paid for the issue that month. *Cough*BMW*Cough*

The Titan 3.36 gears in a 5-speed are the same as 4.10's. Those are the 'big tow package' gears. They also offer 2.94's, which equal 3.7X's.

Ironically, the fastest Titans in the 1/4 are those with the 2.94 option.

As for the motor, they are underrated from the factory.
My old Titan with a mail-order tune, intake, muffler swap and 2.94 gears dynoed at 309/384 when from the factory is supposedly had 305/371. And that on a warm, wet late spring day.
