Default Dodge Dakota project

Hello I own a 1995 Dodge Dakota and I'm in the process of saving money to do a engine, tranny and rear end swap. As of right now it has the factory 3.9 with 5 speed and 8.25" rearend. My plan is to swap out the factory stuff for a Arrington performance 392 Gen III Hemi with a Whipple 2.9 supercharger along with a new T-56 Magnum with built 9" Ford rearend. I would like everyone's input on this. Let me know what you all think. Does anyone on here know of anyone else doing such a task?
Thanks,
Mike

Very old thread.....Congrats on building a Dakota...... I have a 91 Dakota that I'm making into a full drag truck. I've been building this truck for years (far to many to admit too). Currently I have a magnum based 391 stroker motor, and TKO-600 in it. Initially I planned on going the N2O route, however I've since changed directions and am now going twin 69 mm GT-45's. Once I blow this motor (yes I said that)..... I have an 06 5.7 hemi on my engine stand, that I'll be stroking (3.79 crank) to a 6.1, and using Eagle based 5.7 (09 and later) heads on. I've got a plan for either a 6.1 intake or the Ritter intake for this app, and I'll more than likely step up to twin 76 mm turbos at this point..... I'm running a Dana 60 in my setup, and will eventually get a G-Force 5R5 clutchless manual 5spd for it...... I have not time frame for the final product, but I do hope to get this thing finally finished up and racing sometime in 2018..... If you need advice or help I've built several Dakotas. I currently drive a manual swapped 02 QC, 3.9, with 9.25 rear and 3.91 gears..... It too will eventually end up with a 5.7 Hemi in it. I also run full stand alone PCM's FAST & MS3. Good luck with your build sir, It's great to see I'm not the only crazy person out here still building Daks.
