Default Diesel exhaust on a gas engine?

Curious if anyone has done this? Seems like it would be a cheap freer flowing exhaust system for a gas engine, even the V10's. Most of the diesel guys replace their stock exhaust which I think is 3-3.5", so there should be a lot of take offs. wonder what the high perf or even stock diesel mufflers flow and sound like?

Though not a Dodge, I did this on my old 2000 Silvy. It sounded great, and the look was killer with the 3+ inch pipe. You'll have to compare your piping to the diesel piping to see if it will work. In my case I had to make small changes to get it to work, but it was worth it.

Yeah, I'm cheap.... The diesel exhaust is usually alot better material. The D-max was all stainless, thicker material, and all mandrel bends (not crimped and restricted).

I no longer have the truck, and never made a sound clip. Even with that monster of a muffler the D-max uses it had a noticable rumble at idel. Nice and crisp sound daily driving, no drone at all on the highway, and it had a nice deep growl when you punched it. People swore I had a Magnaflow or Corsa muffler under there, then I would point out the D-max beast under the bed!!!

Not sure if it will be the same with your Dodge, but its well worth the shot. Good luck.

I have run a 4" diesel system in my 97' Ram for several years and it works great. I have just installed a full 5" diesel system as part of the twin turbo package that is nearing completion. It was an easy bolt in.
