how do i remove an ignition cylinder from a 94 C1500

Default how do i remove an ignition cylinder from a 94 C1500

a guy at my work wants me to replace his ignition lock cylinder due to age and the key is worn down. how do i get this damn thing out?

Go and get your self a cheap harbor freight steering wheel/column kit.

Remove the steering wheel, then use the kit to compress the column spring down. Remove the lock ring and then slowly take the spring loose. Once you are in the column that far there is a torques head screw that holds the tumbler in the column. Take it out and use the key to remove it.

I know I have not used proper terminology but feel this can get ya close ; )
