98 c1500 wheel size.
Hey guys. I've been trying to find people that have run 15x10 on the rear of these trucks. Most I see are using 6" backspace. Anyone know if a 5" backspace will work and tuck in? Has a 6" drop in the back as well. Probably looking to run a 275/60 or a 295/50 if it fits.

I run the 275-60-15s on the Chrome 8" 454 SS style wheels-not sure their back space. . Rubs the front sway bar slightly on hard turns lock to lock parking places.

This is the minimum you need to tuck, No guarantee you wont rub anything else but this is your backspacing bible for OBS trucks.

Wow where in the world did you find that? That's like a gold mine! Thanks for the help!

I'll disagree with the bible a little bit. A 10" wheel with 6" backspace is fine on the rear. You may want to roll the lip a little bit to be sure, but it's fine.
These are Boss 338 20x10 with 6", running a 295/40/20 tire. No rubbing whatsoever. The truck is a C2500LD (6 lug 2500) with the 6 lug bolt pattern converted to 5 lug, so it's the 9.5" 14 bolt semifloating rear axle, unsure if the WMS-to-WMS measurement is exactly the same as a C1500. http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/proj/rh94_107s.jpg http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/proj/rh94_108s.jpg Fronts are 20x8.5 with 5.24" backspace running a 255/45/20. Fit is fine, but I honestly prefer 5.5" in this case. http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/proj/rh94_106s.jpg http://www.someotherplace.com/bb/proj/rh94_109s.jpg Richard |
