To me it's worth the swap. The TBI motor in his 94 is a giant turd, maybe 180-200hp on a good day. The LS swap will hands down be faster, better to drive and better fuel mileage.

They sell motor mount kits and likely wire harness adapters to make the gauges work but that would be some research on your end and for your friend to do.

You might need a matching transmission aswell, not sure if the older 4L60e's will work with the stock LS computer/wire harness.

You will need a set of motor mount plates, fuel pump since the LS uses higher fuel pressure than the tbi and id look at PSI for the plug n play wire harness. The 4L60E in his truck can be used aswell. Very simple to swap these trucks. Ive done several of them now.

Being a 94 you have to make sure the 4l60 is a 13pin not a 11pin. other than that just like jamie said, some adapter mounts, fuel pump and a harness... its a awesome swap for a c/k truck

If I recall, I read that the older 4L60E won't work with an LS computer. I've got a '94 with a lightly modified 4.3L and I will eventually swap the engine since its getting up there in miles. But since your friend already has a 350, I wouldn't change it for a stock 5.3L. Has he done the basic TBI modifications? They made a difference in my 4.3L, a 350 will be even better off.

5.3 is lightyears ahead of an L05.

How do you guys make your factory tach work? I've got a 1993 I'm finishing now and the tach and speedo are about all I have left it figure out. I think I just need to put some T taps in the trans speedo output to get the speedometer working but I can't get the tach to register anything.
