If the truck was fuel injected, I assume so since first year was 1987.... Pull the sending unit out of the tank. and use a Walbro intank pump. Should be good to go. I stuck a 87-91 K5 Blazer/Burban 31 gallon tank under the bed of my truck using a new sending unit for that tank and a Walbro pump.
my truck is an '85, for efans I used 98-02 Fbody fans and make brackets to mount to the radiator bracket at the top of my radiator.

I have done business with Nelson Performance for many years and I have never had any issues. I bought my harness from PSIconversion but it's not going to plug and play directly to your truck. You're going to have to tie the wire from the harness to the fuel pump, one to 12v, one to ground, one to key on 12v. I had to wire the efans up myself. But there are efan wire harness available that are pretty easy to hook up to the harness.
