I'm trying to put a 5.3 in a 1993 K1500. I've purchased Moroso LS Adapter plates (Moroso 62555) which were supposed to be "Stock Position" for engine and transmission and rumored to work with the stock clam shell motor mounts. After days of cussing, lifting and shifting the engine every which way, I can firmly say that the stock motor mounts will NOT work with the Moroso adapter plates. The Moroso pieces not only had to be flipped side to side from what they are marked, they also space the center bolt too wide to fit on the frame mount. Also, "Stock Position" might be correct for something like a Camaro/Nova/Chevelle/Impala, but for this truck, it sucked the transmission forward about 1/2". A call to the Moroso technical support line, despite their best and courteous efforts, did not yield any solution other than buying custom mounts. Just some Info for anyone that might benefit from it.
