Default which torque converter 2000 6.0/4l80e 3000lbs also how to identify lq4?

First of all Im pretty sure its a lq4.
lq4 on the rpo, 8 lug, 2500. 4l80e trans. iron heads
BUT without taking off the bellhousing or alternator is there a way to check for sure that it a 6.0 incase a swap happened before or something?

2nd since im pretty sure its a lq4 it has that longer crank which basically means 4l80e only for trans which is fine.

the truck is 2000 2500 silverado and is complete. and will be used as a donor truck and wll be swap into a 3000lbs car. then turbo.

main purpose is daily driven car so i figured 2500-3200 stall?
but which one. or can i use any 4l80e stall since i have the original flex plate anyways? will it bolt up? or is there a specific converter that the 99/00 lq4 must use?

Iron head motors are LQ4's. I'd swap them for some aluminum 317's personally because they flow way better.

Factory stall in a light car could be alright but that selection could also be decided on what camshaft you wish to run or if you are going to stay with stock cam and just make it a mild turbo setup. Figure to be safe under 500-550whp with the bottom end they have.

are you sure? from what ive read the stock heads flows similar. just iron.

my old 5.3 was running 600whp so at the bare minimum ill push it to that.

flexplate question. any budget one that handle 700-800whp? or will stock handle?

You are right, the iron and aluminum heads on the older 6.0's do flow the same. One is just like 40lbs heavier than the other lol.

I'm crossing myself up sometimes, thinking about different heads and flow.
