Smile Helping out a friend 08 dmax

OKAY best way I can explain it, 08 duramax was filled with water down fuel from a conroe corner store. he changed filters pumped by hand all he could get out of the tank, took the truck on a drive after that and ran like crap. He paid someone to drop tank, clean tank fresh fuel, filters . Now it cranks but no start. He was told he will need a new cp3 pump and 8 new injectors. He also was told there was not a electric fuel pump in the tank...I dont believe this since its a high pressure system.!

what do you guys think the problem is? Just looking to help him out.....

thanks

I've never seen a Duramax truck with a lift pump. The CP3 pump creates suction to draw the fuel out of the tank up to the pump itself. Then it is compressed to high pressure. Maybe try priming the filter with the pump on the fuel filter housing again? If there's air in the injector lines it could take quite a bit of cranking to clear it out and get fuel where it needs to be.
