I just bought a 2015 with a 6.0, 6 speed auto and 4.10 gears, I'm seeing a out 13.2 around town, and 15.8
On the highway. I've had it as high as 17 on a short 65 mph highway trip, no load. Crew can truck too.

Only thing I did was up the air to 75 psi in all 4 tires. I suspect a muffler, air box and a tune would get a solid 2 mpg better. I'm curious what an electric fan setup would do... But I don't see anyone making one yet.

Just don't want to do anything that's gonna screw with the towing ability, don't want a tune in it that would be risky for the load of a 10,000 lb trailer.

I just bought a 2015 Sierra Denali 2500 yesterday, and am at work right now so I can't look under the hood... Are you telling me the don't have eletric fans on these engines?!?! My 2008 Sierra Denali 1500 had electric fans stock! That is crazy. I'm still pissed off that they run the 6.0 in these and not the 6.2 like I had in my old truck. I bought this truck to get better gas mileage while towing a camper, instead its matching what my half ton got, an average of 7-8mpg!

I was thinking long tubes and exhaust would help, but after reading these posts it seems maybe not.

Since this is my first brand new vehicle, does anyone know if the MPG gets better when the truck is broken in? Have 1300KM (812 miles for you americans) on it now, and it seemed to get slightly better towards the end of our trip. Although between gas quality, wind and road elevations its hard to judge 1 mpg improvement.

I just can't believe that a truck capable of towing 13,000lbs is getting 7 MPG pulling a 6000lbs camper. What would it get if it were a 13,000lbs camper?!?!?

Probably the same 7mpg. Wind drag is as much the reason as the weight.

I got a new 25 mile average of 19.5 on my way home from work last night... With no load if you drive it right I'm not finding it to be that bad... Better then I ever got with my 6.7 diesel ram.

I'm at 2700 miles, only thing I've done is air all the tires to 72 lbs, and a Mobil 1 oil change at 1800 miles. When the air filter is dirty I will buy an airbox for the truck, volant looks like a decent setup. We will see what that does. I'm looking for a decent exhaust setup, but I don't see alot listed for a crew cab 2500 6.0 yet. Magnaflow, or a Gibson would be my choices... 3 or 3.5 inch would be about right I figure.

If I happen across a set of 1 3/4 stainless f body headers I may pick them up, see if they fit right on like they did in the 2003-2005 years... If they do ill put them on, have a y built with a set of high flow cats, and a 3.5 single out the side setup, and get it tuned. Probably gain 40 hp, if that gets the mpg any better, even better.

Have you looked at what size exhaust the truck has stock...I think you'll be surprised.

It is relatively big, at least 3 or 3.5 inch from a quick glance. Mainly wanna ditch the 50 lb muffler and give it some tone.... And I'm sure the decreased backers sure will help mpg

I'm sure the new 6.0's are a little more refined, but in my 6.0 (exhaust, CAI, tune) I average 8-10 miles per gallon in town, depending on driving style, and 17 on a 70 mile road trip, ranging 70-95 miles an hour. Got a 6" lift and 35's so that kills me in town.
