I vote for a set of long tubes with a 93 tune by a good tuner, this will help you get the best bang with out spending too much $$, next step is a super charger when funds allow.

I'd leave it alone and save my money for a diesel. You can supercharge and regear but nothing is going to be as efficient as a diesel for what your doing...

Trust me I tried with my 2004 Denali quadrasteer. Once you have the power with a gas tow rigg the economy and reliability are gone...

Honestly, little story...I was in the same boat years ago, I was going to buy a diesel but didn't want to deal with payments again. With just paying off mine. Now my trucks an 03 2500hd, 8 inch lift on 37s so it's no powerhouse with the 6.0. A tune and a re gear helped a ton. After that I did headers and dual exhaust. It's still no drag car but it towed my 8k trailer just fine for a few years. Fuel mileage is 12 around town and 9 towing..not good but I don't tow every day.

After that I wanted more performance, I did a tvs1900, pullies, meth, cam and a bunch of other things. It totally runs like a new truck and fuel mileage isn't much different. Towing now the extra grunt helps a decent amount but it's no diesel, I don't expect it to be. I sunk probably about what a year of payments would of been and I'm glad I did.

For what it's worth I wouldn't want a new diesel anyway, a buddy works at the dealer and said they plain out suck ***. Always working on em, mine never skips a beat.lol

The guy doesn't want a diesel... you don't want a gasser. That's not a difficult concept to comprehend.

Bottom line is the gas truck will get the job done, but you have to be realistic about what you're doing with it and I believe the OP is. Let's not start a gas vs diesel flame war here, that kind of BS belongs on FB. They build both trucks because there are people that still need both.

Exactly, I don't want to get into it... thats not why i posted. It was just an opinion and only an opinion. The gasser will do fine, a diesel suits some...just not me.

Our 6.0 didn't have a lot towing guts either. But the 6.0l is almost bullit proof if you have common sense. I just learned to hold it wide open and let it eat. Seems like they have no problem turning the high rpms. Then again my 8.1L's need more power too so....

There is a video on YouTube. Fast lane trucks take a 6.0l and tows up the mountain with 20,000 lbs behind it. It wasn't the fastest thing for sure but had no problems. Just proves it's a damn good setup even if a little slow

That's exactly right. I pulled my camper yesterday and set the cruise and just let 'er sing.... they most definitely aren't afraid of the RPM. It'll make you cringe at first if you're not used to it but you're not hurting a thing.

For sure. I was towing a 26 foot car hauler with a S500 Benz the first time I towed with the 6.0L. 2800 rpms on flat land and 6,000 on ever hill. I actually stopped at a gm dealer in GA. I was like so I just got this truck. With cruise set at 65-70 it down shift and stays at 6,000 rpms. Dealer was like yea they all do that

Any updates on your truck? I have the same truck (2015 2500 CCSB 6.0 4x4) and it doesn't tow my rock buggy on my homemade lightweight trailer bad (about 6k plus 1k in gear in the bed total) but if there are gains I'd entertain checking them out. I had diesel trucks for 10 years and don't need another for my situation. My last truck was a 2008 gmc 2500 6.0 that was stock except a mailorder tune from Diablew via a diablo intune. The tune made the tranny shifting tons better but no seat of the pants power gain. I am about to do another tune like that on this but figured do some research and see if there is anything else too.
