18" or 20" wheels

Trying decide on a wheel size and what might look best on my crew cab 2001 2500

I'd like a wheel that just sticks out slightly beyond the fender.

I also plan to leave the front height stock, and possibly lower the rear 1" to level it out.

Anyone care to share some pics of stock height rucks with 18 or 20" wheels ?

Does tire size matter in what you may pick?

The 20in tires will be a much shorter sidewall than 18's and the 20in rims will be heavier than the 18's which will add to the unsprung weight that you will have to turn.

These are 18" with 285/60/18 tires... It is lowered a bit but you can get the idea..https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.per...cff7fead95.jpg

Actually I forgot I have a before and after it was lowered.. Now you can see stock height vs lowered with 18s.... This is a standard 2500 so it sits a bit lower than an HD.https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.per...62a17caa34.jpg

Mostly stock... front has been levelled with the back which with the adapter to run the new wheels it needs for clearance up front with the 265/60/20. I'm happy with it as is.. if anything I would lower it lol.

Ended up ordering 20s with 275/55/20 tires . Almost seemed like tires for 20s are cheaper to btw ?

Yea, I was going to say that I have a very limited selection of tires in the size I want. Not a lot of choices in a 285/60/18 with a street tread/softer compound.

I don't do any off-roading so I just got a normal all season cooper.

But your right sizes and options are more limited on the 18"

Tires.com had some awesome rebates this week I couldn't pass it up.
