01 Suburban K2500, 8.1L... MPG comparisons

Hey all,
I've got an '01 Suburban K2500, 8.1L, cold air intake, Gibson ceramic headers, Gibson cat-back, 189k miles, 6" lift, and 315/75R16 tires.

I get 8-9mpg in town and 11mpg on the road.

Whomever has done some upgrades to their 8.1L and can beat those mpg numbers, what did you do to increase your mileage?

Thanks

there is no such thing as mpg 8.1,,

My 01, got 10 mpg bone stock, 150K miles later, its on 35's, cam, lockers bumpers winches and lots of body damnage i get 6 mpg. when it was turboed it got -a lot mpg.

I've got 34's, I guess that I should feel lucky with my mpg? :/

I forgot to mention, I always use premium gas. I get an extra mile to the gallon and less pinging.

Depends on where you live, the wife denali only gets 10 mpg in town, its a 11 with 6 speed and cylinder deactivation...

My 01 2500 Burb with a fully built stroker motor gets 8/12 MPGs. Its just the nature of the beast.

A dyno tune and changing a few things would help, my 750hp 8.1 got 8/14 mpg

xx_ED_xx is probably talking about his rcsb truck in his sig.

in my experience vehicle weight and aerodynamics have a big impact on fuel economy.

I have a 01 suburban on 35"s, I get 13mpg driving 65mph in Arizona. I use to get 12 with smaller tires. I figure the bigger tires it rides lower in the rpm range. worst I get is 10mpg with stop and go all day. I have it tuned and it burns zero oil. which is rare.
