I still don't think there is a huge improvement to be made with any of them over stock. Still waiting to see proof. I suspect about 10 hp at the most along with more intake noise. Actually the only reason I finally broke down and spent money on a new tube is because my stock one didn't fit very well after the TBSS intake went on.

so, just to clarify...
(since my stock intake tube is missing the rubber at the TB & causing a vacuum leak)

to make an intake tube for my 2001 5.3 (with fan shroud), i'll need a 4" 90* elbow and a 4" 45* elbow (like seen here) and a piece of 4" pipe to the air filter, connected to the MAF by a rubber boot.

is that correct?

anybody??

i kinda need to get this done - the truck's been idling around 450-500 since i got the engine running & even stalled on me once when i put it in neutral coming up on an exit ramp. not to mention, it's been jumping straight to 2000rpm & hanging there a couple seconds on cold starts

I have a 2000 Chevrolet. 5.3. I wanna do something with the intake as well. What kind do you guys recommend? I've heard Aem is good, and that sticking with the closed box configuration. is that true? thanks folks
