Default Windham weaponry

Well I was at Walmart of all places and an AR15. I am clueless on what to get my wife this year and what do you know they have a windham weaponry ar15 in muddy girl pink. My wife has told me for a while she would love a .223 since she isn't much of a hunter, but loves to shoot. I will post two of my crappy phone pics and try and find a legit phot online. It's $899 with a 30 round clip. Not much else. I am pretty much an AR15 newbie so fill me in. I have put 3000+ rds thru my uncles .223, but that is about the extent of my knowledge. Any tips, cheaper places to buy, better brands in a similar price range, other stuff that I must buy, etc.

From my research it looks like a former bushmaster owner is behind this company.

I have this exact rifle minus the pink camo paint....it is a great gun and its compatible with all the aftermarket out there...I got mine at academy for $649 though so $899 seems high to me...

For $900 I'd much rather build! It's incredibly easy.

I think it would be cool to build one, but I am a long ways from that kind of knowledge. I am like the kid wondering which is better a throttle body spacer super chips or hyper tech right now. Lol

no, no you are not...you just got to get on the RIGHT forums and read a few threads, watch a few videos and BAM, you got yourself a gun. I had never broke an AR15 down besides the two takedown pins on my old bushmaster. Hated it, sold it, went a few years without one, then built one!

Can you read, comprehend, and follow directions? Ever build anything as a kid like erector sets, etc? I hope I don't come off as a dick, but it really isn't that hard, especially when you talk with knowledgeable people.

texasglock23, is right. They are very simple. there are some great books with diagrams for you to follow. When I first started working on guns the AR's scared me. after taking a good look at one they are very simple.. give it a try, if you have any problems pm me I can walk you thru it.

Okay after like 5 mins of googling and reading I am actually somewhat confident based on your comments that I could do this. Now my ownly issue would be cost and time needed to build one with muddygirl accents before Christmas? Are we looking at under 1k? Could I get it done in less than one month without her knowing? Thanks fellas.
