Default Another scope bites the dust

I knew it was coming. I decided to torture test one of my cheap plinker scopes today. For $300, it did perform admirably. The scope, a Konus 6.5-25 M30. The rifles, a sporter weight Rem 300RUM, Savage 111LRH 338 Lapua, and the scope wrecker AR50a1. I'll give the little guy some credit, it did take 50 rounds of 300RUM, and 50 rounds of 338 Lapua. As far as standing up to the big guy, well it lasted a grand total of 2 shots before the cross-hairs turned 45 degrees. Oh well, when I get it back, I'll just toss it on my 308. I am however curious on whether a Viper HS with the XLR reticle would survive all three?

Happy shooting gents.

Don't worry brother, I'll post it up after I test it. I'm starting to get quite the collection of broken scopes that were supposedly shock proof. I don't however think your 308 is going to rock this scope too much.

Allow me to add yet another scope to the list. I went out shooting my 300RUM today topped with a 3-15 SWFA SS. 22 rounds later, an internal lens fell in. Thank God SWFA has really good customer service.

Thats disheartening to hear the ss failed too. Ive been very happy with my 3-15 but its been on a 20" 223 AR so not exactly a rough ride. Ive got a fixed 20x swfa on my 5R 300wm and it had 100 rounds down the tube before I threaded it for a muzzle brake. It now has 200 rounds down yhe tube with no problems. Hope my luck continues with it.

I wouldn't worry too much about it man. It's a relatively new design. There's bound to be a few bugs with it. This seems to be one of the few, if any, failures with the 3-15. To be honest, the scope is still relatively usable. I just cant utilize the upper mils for short range due to a single lens being knocked loose and blocking the top third.
