Default sniper tuning software

i had my truck tuned with sniper origanaly and then done again. i am still not happy with the results ( 320 hp and 434 tq at the wheels ) and runs very rich like under 10.14 that is as far as my meter reads too. all this in a 5.0 stroker, intercooled 2 core procharged @ 12lbs to 5000 rpm because that is as far as they could go. and to top it off we baught the soft ware our selfs to see if we can do better lol, they said you just have to know a little bit to do it, ya right we could not figure it out to do anything, what a waist of money that was......... any thoughts?

I have never heard of Sniper. How much was it? There has been a lot of success with HP Tuners, and EFI Live. I am partial to EFI Live myself.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here, are you working on a Ford? You posted in the GM tuning section. We can move the thread if needed, just say so.

I have used sniper on a buddys car its very simple to use, there are two different levels of it though. You have the commando software which is basically like HPtuners you can adjust every parameter, then you have the special forces software thats basically for bolt on cars. The commando stuff is ok if you ask me, the special forces stuff is basically canned tunes but you can adjust to tell it alot about your combination though you can adjust the part, mid and high rpm timing and fuel trims with it. Before my buddy got the software hee got a very well respected tuner to tune his '04 GT it had patriot performance stg2 heads, patriot cams, kooks longtubes, offroad x-pipe, dynomax cat-back, 24lb injectors, BBK CAI, BBK throttle body/elbow, Underdrive pullies and forged probe pistons with h-beam rods, This was all going through the stock manual tranny and it only put down 278.8HP on motor and 349 on 125 shot. To say the least we were both surprised at how low the power numbers were, these were all dyno tunes with AFR and data logging for 5 hours straight. I can say the software is easy easy easy to use and you can make it very driveable with good power. Too bad HP tuners doesnt support older Ford stuff then we woulda just added it on to my GM hp tuners software
