Default Ignition Problems

1st off, I have NO idea when my engine was made. I have a v-belt system, with a 4bbl on top. The distributor has a 4 wire bundle, plugged into an ignition module (i guess thats what it is) and from the dist one of the wires is green, it was on the negative side of my coil, the other wire comes from that box, and is on the positive side of the coil. When the positive side has that particular wire connected, the coil will get SUPER hot when the ignition switch is on.

With my multimeter that wire doesnt have a sign of voltage, and that green wire on the negative side doesnt either.

Any help is appreciated.
